10 Things I wish more* MMOs had..

Hello, I am Borme, You haven't heard of me, But, I've Been around, I've Created Blogs on many sites so, I can get my Thoughts out. The Main Site Is http://lffmmo.blogspot.com/ But, You'll get Posts on the Site you found this on.

Here is 10 Things I wish more MMOs had, In order to establish a Profile of Who I am as a Gamer.

10. A well thought out lore. I hate it when you are plopped down in a world with no idea where you are, What you are doing there , or Why the Heck the Cows hate you so darn much!
9. Things to do outside of Combat. Sometime, I wonder who Enjoy just grinding all day long. When Did Grind become Fun? Things like, Racing Mounts,Fishing, Crafting.
8. A Good Crafting System. Crafting alone is good, I enjoy making armor for myself, But, Why don't give Exp for it? Would it be too hard?
7. Different sever types. I don't mean, "PvP" Or "RP" severs, I mean, "Casual" and "Hardcore" And "Kid-friendly" and "Mature only" That way the little kids with the whinny voices can stay out my Game..
6. Choices within the Game. Is it hard to add in that a Player Can Be Good or Evil? I am Always the good guy, But, can't be have the Choices to rob the Caravan instead of Defend it?
5. A Real Battle going on! Many MMOs have a Faction vs Faction Game play, Or like LotRO, The Forces of sauron are everywhere, So Why not Towns Be Attacked by NPCs?
4. Environmental Effects. Many Games say they have Weather but, that is not what I'm talking about. An Earthquake that acutely effects everyone! A Really Bad storm that destroys a Harbor, You now have quests to rebuild the harbor. You get faction Rep and Some Barter Items.
3. Ingame events! A duke summons everyone in the zone to his side, and a Dragon appears and Everyone has to fight it, but, there is a Twist, You can chose to fight the duke instead, Who ever wins has control of the zone.
2. Fun Little Things. A Reference to Star Wars in the Form of an NPC named Luke Skymocker. Or a evil boss named Dr. Horrible. Perhaps you kill a toad and get turned into a Toad as result.
1. Updates for all levels! Many MMOs give player High level zones to play in, But, never new Lower level zones. Why?

Why I will not be playing Wizard 101

For you to understand my View point, You must read the link but, Long story short, the Game is No longer free.

"Yeah it is, You just can't do some stuff!"

NO! The Current game forbids you from getting beyond level 10! You can't Play the game!

they have made it so that either you play for a week level to 10 and leave. Or you pay 9 bucks a month and Get to have the whole game!

Now, this is unfair.

It is no Longer fun!

"Yes it is! You can still duel and Stuff.."

Yeah right!

You will be fighting players with 10x better gear! That is Not Fun!]
If you had a Small chance to win then, It would be great! But, you Don't!

Why don't I spend the money?

The game is not good enough that I would pay for it! It was free to play! That Is why I liked it! The game was card based and a Blast! but, now.. Kinda sad..

Look, I'm not saying that everyone should hate the game, If you have the Cash to spare then, Go ahead! It's fun!

We The MMOers

Some ones Post at the Common Sense Gamer asked, What are the "MMOers Bill of Rights?"

We The Gamers, In order to from a more perfect MMO, To establish Rules, Laws, and Right to the Gamer, Have formed Articles of MMOFederation. So that we, the gamer may enjoy our MMOs. The rules, laws and rights are as follow. Because we Believe that-

That every MMO is there own MMO and that no man may say that are the same as "WoW".

That Every man May go from MMO to MMO and He is Free to do so. So Long he has the Money to pay for it.

That Every MMO must have Adequate Update within 3 month of every update.

That Every MMO Must be Finished before it is released.

That every Man Must Respect his Other Man, No matter the different MMO they may play.

That, If you are Hardcore, you may not diss A Casual Player. Nor a Casual may Mock a Hardcore Player.

Every Man has the right to blog about his(Or Her) own view points, However, If an NDA is In Place, you shall respect the NDA.

You may not Blog against a single player game or console gamers, with out proper reasoning behind it.

That Finally, MMO Must be Fun, Thought Though and Have Some Thought behind the Lore.

LotRO PvMP is epic.

Ryzom.. So, Now what?

So Playing Ryzom and I find myself not interested in playing, The UI is.. Well, Need work if anything. The Lag is annoying but, If you trudge though though it, It is fun, The Crafting System is Good. But, It is a Little hard understand some things, They throw you in the world and Let you go at it.

Is this a Good thing?

Many people complain about the game carrying them To each zone. 

Is it Bad to tell gamers where to go?

The UI is a Little different then what I am Use to, But, I got spoiled by WoW/LotRO/Any new MMO out there..

I'm trying to be a Crafter/Mage type person..

I'm gonna Use the Ryzom Ring tomorrow..

Ryzom.

So, Ryzom is a "Wholly original MMORPG fusing science fiction and fantasy." Or says the Site.
For those of you who don't know, Ryzom got K.O. a Few months ago and Now, It's back!
The Game it self looks pretty sweet. The Lore behind it is Amazing! (I'm a Lore Geek -_-)
The Ryzom Ring is a Genius idea and the Community really looks like a good one!

I'm downloading the game now.. three Hours O.O

So, When I actuality start playing the game, I'll let you know..

How do We Encourage Grouping?

A good amount of Bloggers have said that they want an MMO that encourages grouping, But, How?

With WoW Grouping was Evil, Forbidden and a Sign you were the Anti-Chirst..

With LotRO Grouping is Encouraged but, You really can't progress in the story line if you don't group up..

With DDO You Have to Group to do almost anything!

In Wizards 101 Nda Sorry!, But, You kinda Need too..I

In Warhammer by the Looks of it, Public quests Tell the Player it's nice to group but, You don't Have to..

Is it Too hard to Maybe give a Good-Sized Bonus To Grouping?

Thoughts for the Day: WAR - LotRO - PvMP/RvR

Well, at first I was a Little annoyed with Warhammer, I loved the miniature game but, I was uneasy of WAR, Now the NDA has been Lifted and a Ton of Beta Info has Come out. I have to say, It looks Great! I love the Public Quests, It's a Brilliant Idea! The PvP (Or RvR as They say it) Is ok, The Evil guys seem to out number the good guys, (From What I've seen) but, other than that, Look pretty good..

I played some monster Play the other night, and I have to admit, Being A Creep is a Little OP..
But, It was fun..

Sometimes I wonder, How can Devs make PvP/PvMP/RvR Original? In the End, it's just "Kill other Players". I know WAR Claims to have some of the best PvP out there, But, How are they doing anything different?I like what LotRO did, They had The Player use Session play to have a Monster Characters. But, What is WAR doing differently?

Why is there a Push for End-game Content?

I logged on LotRO the other night, and Faced a Decision, I could Play Glinath and Try,Try,try to Level up.

Or.

I could Enjoy myself playing Agronia (Meh Hobbit Minstrel)

Then, I slapped myself. Why in World Do Developers Make Leveling up To 50 the Purpose?!?!
We should have enjoying your self along the way!
Now you are going to tell me that, "You can go to the Summer Festival!" or, "Maybe your just mad because you can't get a group for something"
I know! But, Racing or Drinking Something is Fun, But, I want Something "epic"
I Really like the Idea of WAR's public quests, Because, It something for you to Do!

Why Star Wars Galaxys is not for me.

Last week before I started Fasting I play a Little Star Wars Galaxy's,It Was...
Well, You have to view it From the Stand point of of A old Game, If you look at it with Todays Eyes, the Game (in the Early levels) Is not so good.
But, For what it Was It was an Amazing Game!
The First game to Allow Crafting a A Class!
Dancing!
And the First (Correct me if I'm wrong) MMOFPS

But, I have to say, It is Not for me..
Why you ask?
Because I like my Games New and Shiny?
NO!
I just don't find that Star War Galaxy's is Made for My Generation,

Killdren ~ Everything you know about us, is wrong.

Promethus looked at the street below. It was a gory scene, three mobsters broken bodies lay on the ground, They were half burned and Hundreds of cuts littered there bodies. There blood filled the street as the rats and other small creatures ran around drinking it up.

"They killed 15 people Promethus" spoke a girl with long blond hair with spatters of blood all around it. She was about 15, Promethus's Age, and yet she acted like she was much older.

"I know, I just wish you hadn't made them kill each other..It felt.. Wrong.." Promethus said.

"You call that wrong?" The Girl Laughed " You burned them to death!"

Promethus sighed as he looked at the bodies on the ground, He closed his eyes and thought hard, Then, A Small flame appeared in his hand, Then It got bigger and bigger.

Agrona was right, he did burn them to death, That was his job, He was a Killdren.

Grouping in Games, and Community..

If you had not read, I have had a Hard time getting a Group in LotRO (Still haven't done the quests yet >.>)  

Isn't Grouping the Point of An MMO? WoW was an RPG with A chat room and other people running around stealing your kills. But, It was not meant to be like that!

There is Not Grouping system in Wizard 101 you just go into instances with them.. I have made Friends With people, and not just a Few Friends, The Community and I Know each other!

Maybe it's Because it's In Beta, or it's a Kids Game but, I know people, They help me out and We have a "community"

In WoW there would be very little "Community" sure, I would know the people in my guild but, They were just "Guild Mates". They were the Annoying, Older, Loot stealing Bunk Mate I had in camp.

I don't want to lose Solo Play, I like solo play, mainly when I want Fight my way into an Orc camp and Kill the boss, Alone, and get a nice little reward for my troubles..

At the same time, I don't want to lose grouping!

Maybe, Adding a Little more reward for playing in a group, Perhaps The quests give you 35% more XP, gold, etc, if you have 3 people in your group..

Maybe let you know When there are people on when you start, For your time frame?

Feeling Sick + Epicness

So Yeah, Yesterday I was sick and, I think I'll be on-off blogging for the week..

Saw Dragon wars Last night (Awful movie!), but, The Dragons Were Epic! Why isn't the Combat in our MMO "Epic"

Doomsday MMO?

Ok, So i just saw the Movie Doomsday for the First time.(BTW, I Liked it!)But, It got me Thinking, How would a Doomsday MMO Play? If you think about it, The Setting works for an MMO...

The Glasgow Tribe:

The Cannibal Tribe in the Movie lived in Glasgow (DUH!) and Were lead by Sol until, The Main Character kills him, At the End of the Movie She throws his head at the Cannibal tribe and Becomes the New Leader.. This could give way to a Slightly better Tribe, but, Who knows?

But, This Tribe would work perfectly in an MMO, You could play a Either a Warrior, Alchemist (They would hurl Fire at People and stuff), Torturer, Etc...

Kane's Knights: 

In the far north of Scotland By loch Ness, Kane and his Army of Middle Age Warriors live. This would also make a Great Race to play as. The Classes would be  Knight, Spearmen, Archer, Etc..

It would be at the Very least Original!

Things I miss About the Dark lord know as WoW

Though I never want to go back to it, WoW had some* Good things about it..
And One of those thing is the Grouping system or, The amount of players that use it.
I was playing LotRO today, Trying to get Glinath to 50, And I had 20+ Group quests. I got a Group for NONE of them!
In WoW If I need to get a quest, I'd Just ask once and I'd Get a Group for it.
So, That is it..

*Ok, Like One.*

Monster Play, Why Fairness is In the Eye of the Beholder.

Anyone who know what Monster Play is knows that you play as a Level 50 Orc, Uruk, Warg or Spider and Fight level 40-50 Freeps (Players that play Elfs,Dwarfs,Hobbits and Humans)

What people complain about is The "Fairness" of it. 

The Freeps say that The Monsters have too much bonuses , They get no Debuff if they die, and Don't have to Work to get gear, or to level up.

The Creeps (Monster players) say that the Freeps can solo a Creep one on one, And have More Abilities hit points and defense, and They can Shoot Lasers Out of there eyes.. ok that last one Was not true..

But, the Truth is that Turbine is trying to keep it balanced as possible, Sure, I get angry I hate getting killed fight after fight after fight by Freeps but, Then again when we take them down, They get a Major Debuff! (I also believe that they get less Points for it... >.>)

Stop Complaining about it! Grow up! If you keep whining the Game will turn out like WoW's PvP did..

Weekly Gameing Update

Things I'm playing:
Lord of the Rings Online:Monster Play, Thodush Rank 2 Defiler
Wizard 101 (can't say much yet but, I'm gonna keep playing) Colin Soulhunter, 20 Necromancer


Things I tried:
Fiesta. (I logged on, Started the game, Then quit. Not my Style of game)

Warhammer (NOT THE MMO!)

So, While my Father was in Iraq my mom had gotten me a Warhammer Box set thing. I made some models and Painted a Few, then my Father came back. We moved, and I kinda stopped doing it..

My cousins from Alaska came over and the oldest cousin and I were talking and I showed him some of the Miniatures I had Painted.. then we went to games workshop and He watched his Dad play a Game, then we played a Game at my House. after he left I began Painting them again, and Now, I think I'll really start doing it.


BTW my Army is the Bretonnians.

Mini-Review: Lord of the Rings Online - Monster Play

Sorry For lack of updates, my birthday came around and I have been busy..

But..

Mini-Review:
I made a Monster since I like healing, I chose the "Defiler" you get into the game you'll get some simple* quests (*I found that look are deceiving) The Quests Are to "Kill Slugs", "Go to Point A then Come back", "Get hobbit legs"..
What they don't tell you is the marsh where the Slugs are, is the Freeps (A Free Person i.e. Players) favorite camping ground, You'll get ganked,and ganked, and ganked.
The Run to Point A quests Are tough because you'll run into Freeps along the way.. and Die.

Asides from that, Monster play is good, As Long as you don't come into it thinking "oh, I'll start at level 1 then work my way up to 60 and Gank level 4 hobbits LOLz I am 1337"(One Day I'll Prove that WoW Is a mental illness..)

The PvP (Or PvMP) is Great, and It makes All the time I spent running around the Shire with Pies and Mail seem worth it, after I kill a Village of Hobbits.

One thing I HATE, Is the small children who play the game, WHY? Why do you let Your 10 year old kid Play, with a MIC? I was in a Raid and We had a Reeaaalllyy bad Raid Leader, Guess who it was, A Kid, He was talking and Talking and his little voice over the speakers made my ears Bleed..

But.. Fun, Annoying and slightly Therapeutic

"Mommie, why is the man saying that?" Asked a young boy to his mother.

Erin sighed, as she thought of a way to tell her son that the homeless man was drunk and said,

"He thinks that the world is wrong.. now get on to the train Mecha.."

Erin did not like New York but, she had gotten a job with the smithsonian so she couldn't say no. Erin's son had to come with her, 

Because his father was long gone.

When Erin got into the office she saw her boss, and a Strange looking man who had an 

odd blue object in his hand.

"Ah," said Erin's boss, Duncan "Here She is!"

"Morning Duncan, Who is this?" Erin asked.

"I am Rem.' said the man, with a rather strange accent.

"Rem here found a most interesting thing, and wants you to come with him to

find it" Said Duncan

"What is this Interesting thing?" Erin asked.

"Atlantis.." said Rem with deep seriousness in his voice.

"Rem, Hurry up!" yelled Erin. They were almost there. after almost a year, they had

made it!

"I have long waited" said Rem smiling.

As the two made it over the cliff, they gasped.

The rest of the group (Nine archaeologists and one Egyptologist) slow walked up

the path and When they reached the top, they stood awestruck.

"Atlantis.." Rem said smiling.

It was more amazing then Erin had ever imagined. A huge city with massive walls,

huge skyscrapers and frozen waterfalls.

Suddenly the Sra glowed.

The 'Sra' was the name of the object that Rem had when he had first met Erin, Rem

Believed it was a Map.

But, now The Sra began to shake violently, suddenly a Blue pulse rang though the

city. The ice melted instantly.

"*cough*cough* how are you Mechha?" Erin spoke into a web cam.

"I'm good mom.." Mechha said.

Erin had wanted to stay in contact with Mechha while she was looking for 

Atlantis.

"So you really did find it?" said Mechha excited.

"Yes! We found so much, yesterday we found this!" Erin moved the webcam to a

old tablet, On it there was a sene depicting a pile of sculls and a Child sitting on

top crying.

Erin then went into a coughing fit. She was weak, it was painful to stand but, Erin

could not let Mechha or Rem know, they worried to much. It was just a Bad cold.

Then, She happened to into her hands, there was blood, allot of it.

General Mark Howard looked at the sheet of paper in front of him.

"Every one of them?" He asked.

An elderly man nodded.

"Have you contained it?" Mark asked.

"Yes New York is sealed off, and as far as the world knows a terrorist blew it up."

Replied the man

"Good, You may go." Mark said

After the man left, Mark looked at the paper, all of them died of that horrible 

cough.

Mark coughed

They found Mark's Body the next day a massage had been written in blood.

Woe, woe is the world.

Review: Dreamlords 1-15ish

Well, Because I don't want to sound the Wizard 101 Beta Police, I'll talk about Dreamlords

Initial Thoughts:

Well, I got into the Game the a Day or Two After release and, It was rather easy to understand. You don't have to Pay to Play but, Things Called "Tribute" which gives up items for your "Dreamlord"

Your Dreamlord is mainly a Hero type thing, He (or She) is you Avatar who can cast spells, and is Very powerful..

I chose the Nihilim 

Into the game:

So you get into the game and You find yourself in a Field in the middle of nowhere..

Then You find a little girl,She tells you to follow her, then You have to destroy "Nightmares" and then you follow her to a Village where you meet her "Father". He tells you to defend the village from "Nightmares" you do that and the mission ends..

Save the City!

Once you finish the mission your enter "Patria" Which is a large map of the world, you get a quest to save your "City",You walk over and you enter an instance Area, and have to fight some critters..

After that you are given control of the city..

Patria

After you gain control of the city you can Do One of two thing..

1. Grind on mobs for hours on end to get followers

or

2. Work on you Patria Manger which, You need to Kill monsters to get Followers to do anything, but, The Patria Manger is very good, You can set it up to research things and build building..

Combat

The Combat in the Game is OK. not the "RTS" you'd think of, instead you are given some troops a you kill the monster with them, No Building,No real "RTS"..

Age of Kids Online is an MMO in which earth is left without Power and without adults. Ten years later the children who survived now fight the world and with each other..

The Four Clans:
A short time after the plague, Many groups of Children founded thing called "Clans" to help each other and Defend them selfs against the environment.

The Dewdropen came from DC and the north lands. They make there home on the Island "Lostguard" in the north.They are Lead by The Dew Council
~Stone Clan
The Warriors of the Stone Clan are powerful children from the Mid-west. Who make there home on the Island Of "Mountain-Rise".The Stone Clan are lead by 8 "Mountain-Lords"
~Cat Clan
The Cat Clan are a Group of Dewdropen Hunters who Broke off from Dewdrop and Formed there own Clan.The Make there home in the Lush island of "Raven-Wood". They are Lead by a Head Huntress named "Tri-star".
~Dragonheart
The Dragonheart are A Clan From the South. They Make There Home on the Swamp Island of "Dagger-Blessed". They are lead by a Kind but, firm King, "Death-bane"

Tera forming:
On December, 21, 2012 the world was torn up and placed back together the finale Resutle was a New "fresh" World..

Review: Dungeon Runners 1 - 8

Ok, so I was listening to a few Podcasts and Many of them were saying how much they liked Dungeon Runners so, I decided to check it out...

Initial Thoughts:
You create an account and you download the game, The download doesn't take too long and then you can log in.
You have a Choice to play for Free,Pay 5 a month or, You can go out and Get "The Box" which gives you a "Bing Gnome"

When you log in to create a character it looks like you can only create one character. After you create a character it gives you another character slot. If you create Your second, It gives you one more slot then, No more.
After you create your character you arrive in "Dew Vally" you'll find A good deal of quests but, be sure to read the quest all the way though because you'll laugh a ton!

Dew Vally Forest:
After getting a few quest done you'll be sent into the forest. For the most part you'll be blasting wolfs,Rat-things and little else. Gear drops allot,However, You don't see it most of the time Due to the fact that it is nearly impossible to find. Any loot that drop falls to the ground under the grass and other things. When you do find the loot you'll enjoy the "Cardboard Great Sword of the Beaver" and other such things..
One thing that bothers me about the game is the fact that the Dungeons are all Instanced so much of the game play is Solo.

Leaving Dew Vally
Allot of the quests you get a Grind fests but, some of them are fun*
At about level 4 or 5 you will get a quest to kill "Rattle-Tooth" It's a Rather tough fight but, It can be done, then You can Head out to the next town.


Townston & And More Slaughter:
Townston is the next town you go to, It is a Rather Large town and has your class trainers. One of the best things about Dungeon Runners is the customization, you aren't bound by your class spells, you can Practically make your own Class with mix matching the spells.
You'll get 20+ Quests to go into the dungeon near by and you get to fight more stuff..
At this Point you'll see allot more ADs when you die you have to watch one (You die allot) and at the top of the sceen..

Final Thoughts:
Dungeon runners is Funny,Witty and better than most (F2P) MMOs. Although the Ads and many "Members only" stuff does get in the way.
